The Car Seat Emporium

Welcome to The Car Seat Emporium, this is a safe space for everyone to learn about everything related to car seat safety.

We firmly believe that every child deserves to be as safe as they can possibly be on our roads, regardless of your vehicle type or budget.
We are certified European Car Seat Technicians, with further certification in car seat safety for children with special needs, and are here to assist you in making informed decisions for a safe journey, no matter how far or short the distance may be.
Truth be told there is no such thing as a “plug and play” car seat.

Installing a car seat so that it functions as it was designed to in the unfortunate event of a car accident, takes time, effort, and precision and you may even break a sweat while doing it.

We are here to provide the South African community with accurate and up-to-date information regarding car seat safety, everything in one place and easily understandable.

Meet The Team

Gail Frankiskos

I’m Gail, I’m passionate about everything to do with children, specifically their safety. When I became a mom, no one ever spoke about car seat safety and the various car seats available.
After experiencing some difficulty with various car seats, I started researching car seat safety and completed an internationally recognised car seat safety course to bring you the knowledge you need to purchase and use a car seat with confidence.

I am passionate about children with neurodiverse needs and how these needs impact their safety in a vehicle, I am Makaton trained and have experience dealing with all types of children.

Above all else, I truly believe that every child deserves to be as safe as they can be in a vehicle, no matter what your budget is or what type of vehicle you drive.

Meet The Team

René Grundlingh

I am René, a full-time mom and certified European car seat technician, with an additional qualification in car seat safety for children with Special Needs.
When I was pregnant with my first baby I started questioning everything car seat safety related and so my passion for car seats began. I soon realised that other people’s opinions did not necessarily mean that the car seat was the right or safest seat for my child, nor that the car seat would fit in my vehicle.
I am here to share my knowledge with you in an easily understandable and non-judgemental way to enable you to keep your child as safe as possible on our roads.
I pledge to make sure that all your little passengers are correctly buckled up in the appropriate car seat or high-back booster until they are 12 years old.
